Dr. Maria Manzo- Choral Conductor
Music Director & Conductor Maria Manzo is a versatile musician, equally
at home as a concert pianist, choral conductor, arranger and vocalist. Maria
has taught at the High School and College levels of music education. She
received her Doctorate of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado.
Maria founded The North Carolina Choral Invitational Festival. Dr. Manzo
is recognized for her extensive scholarship on the American Spiritual
and is an authority on the music of composer and arranger Jester Hairston,
composer of Amen and other well-known spirituals and sacred music. She
has performed in concerts throughout the United States, and Europe and
is well known for her artistic interpretations of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody
In Blue". In addition to her busy schedule she has found time to record
and produce several compact discs. She is currently conductor of the Vancouver,
USA eighty voice Bravo! Choral and Concert Series.
