The spiders are busy at the Jazz Boat
in August. The French door with it's many
panes has cobwebs at every corner. The
floating thistles catch on the webs and the
morning sun makes them look like snow
flakes.
It's time to brush them off and McCoy
Tyner's C.D.-"Today and Tomorrow" is
the motivation jazz. "T'N A Blues", "Three
Flowers", "A Night in Tunisia", "Autumn
Leaves", "When Sunny Gets Blue". "You'd
Be So Nice to Come Home to", move me
to finish the job.
I was lucky enough to meet and listen
to McCoy Tyner at last year's Mt. Hood
Jazz Festival. Mt. Hood's 20th Anniversary
line up is terrific. Joshua Redman, Ramsay
Lewis and Dr. Billy Taylor, Roy Hargrove,
Dianne Reeves and Nicholas Payton
will groove every jazz fan . Next month,
I'll give you a report.
