Edgar Cool's
Jazz Boat Journals

January

On Christmas day Edgar Cool welcomed special visitors to
the Jazz Boat. Patricia , who lives on a house boat in Sausalito,
Tenzin, a Tibetan monk from Dharmsala, India, the Cooks
from Hazel Dell gathered around the wood fire to sip Chai and
Merlot.
A low slung Sun over the mirror waters, highlighted our
view of the far fields and the herons, beaver and diving
ducks.
Tenzin sat closest to the fire. He accepted the fire like
he was back at the monastery in the foothills of the
Himalayas. We dicussed our spiritual paths. Patricia
and I are battling cancer. Patricia was diagnosed in
August and mine has been a six year battle. I was cited
as an example of survival. Tenzin was here to help Patricia
with kindness, meditation and herbs. Life is Sun shinning
behind the clouds. We all appreciated this time together.
With Miles, Mulligan and Desmond playing we smiled
at the Dalai Lama's message of happiness.

TENZIN

Our sickness and emptiness
are comforted by his generosity.
His herbs and healing from
the Himalayas illuminate
the wheel of life and our understanding.
We see the Dharma and its relation
to the material world and its attachments.
Our ego is released into the stream
that flows through the Ocean Of Wisdom.
